Residents, businesses and visitors of Thetford are being invited to have their say in a new public engagement survey that will help shape how £20 million is invested in the town over the next decade.

The funding comes through the Plan for Neighbourhoods programme - a once-in-a-generation investment designed to improve the places where people live, work and spend time. In Thetford, the funding will be guided by the "...forThetford" initiative, which aims to ensure that every pound is spent on projects and priorities that matter most to local people.

Thetford's £20m allocation will be overseen by the newly established Thetford Neighbourhood Board - a partnership of local people, community representatives, and organisations - who will work together to put residents' voices at the heart of decision-making.

Chair of the Thetford Neighbourhood Board, Jo Pearson, said:

"I'm a proud Thetford man, born and raised here, and I care deeply about our town and its future. This funding is a historic opportunity to make a real difference to Thetford over the next ten years - but it will only work if it's shaped by the people who live here.

"Whether it's improved accessibility, regeneration at Riverside, better education and skills provision, or creating safer, more connected neighbourhoods - now is the time to speak up. Let's make the most of this opportunity together."

The public survey will remain open until 18 September 2025 and can be completed online at www.forthetford.co.uk. Paper copies can also be collected from and returned to Thetford Town Hall, Breckland House and Breckland Leisure Centre.
