Thank you, Thetford - over a thousand residents help shape £20m neighbourhood investment
Thetford residents have played a vital role in shaping the future of their town, with over a thousand people taking part in a recent survey to prioritise how £20 million of government funding will be invested locally over the next ten years.
The survey, which closed on 18 September, asked people to share their views on how the Plan for Thetford's Neighbourhoods should be developed - from improving community facilities and local services to enhancing green spaces, town centre improvements, and opportunities for young people.
Jo Pearson, Chair of the Thetford Neighbourhood Board, said: "I want to say a huge thank you to the hundreds of residents who took the time to complete the survey and have their say. This is your £20 million investment, and your views will make sure the money goes on your chosen priorities. The response shows how much local people care about Thetford's future, and the Neighbourhood Board will continue to work hard to deliver projects that reflect your preferences."
The survey forms part of the wider engagement programme being run by the Thetford Neighbourhood Board, which is made up of local representatives, community leaders, and partners. Over the coming months, the Thetford Neighbourhood Board will review the survey results alongside other feedback to agree the town's long-term investment plan.
The final plan will then be submitted to Government later this year, ensuring the funding is secured and delivered in ways that bring real, lasting benefits to Thetford's residents, businesses, and communities.
