Community Support Fund

The Thetford Pride in Place Board has launched a new £50,000 Community Support Fund to help local organisations make a real difference in the town.

Delivered in partnership with Norfolk Community Foundation, the fund provides grants of up to £10,000 for voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) groups working in and for Thetford.

This early investment marks an important step in turning Thetford's long-term regeneration plans into practical, community-led action.

Supporting Local Communities

The Community Support Fund is designed to:

  • Support grassroots projects that improve people's lives

  • Strengthen local networks and community organisations

  • Build pride, resilience and opportunity across Thetford

  • Help organisations respond to local needs and priorities

Funding is aimed at projects that deliver clear, tangible benefits for residents, particularly those who need support most.

The Community Support Fund forms part of the wider £20 million forThetford programme, which is driving long-term regeneration in the town.

The funding programme supports the priorities set out in Thetford's 10-Year Regeneration Plan, including:

  • Stronger community organisations

  • A revitalised town centre and riverside

  • Improved skills, learning and opportunities

  • Celebrating local heritage and culture

  • Better neighbourhoods and connections

These funds will help turn that shared vision into action.

Message from the Chair, Jo Pearson:

"This is about backing Thetford's communities now, while also preparing for the bigger, long-term projects that will shape the town's future.

The Community Support Fund will help local organisations deliver real benefits on the ground, particularly for residents who need it most.

This is a clear signal that Pride in Place is moving from planning into delivery - by Thetford, for Thetford."
